Gecko? I Don't Know...

I'm not sure if this is a variety of gecko or a kind of anole lizard.  Whatever he is, he loves to climb my window screens!  Houses in Hawaii are not airtight at all - no need for them to be due to the climate here.  That means it's pretty easy for these guys to get into your house (or at least MY house anyway!).  They used to freak me out a little, but now I don't even really care when I see one inside.  They do eat bugs, so at least they are useful in that way.

  1. Nice neck attire he's wearing there Lisa, we get them here in Perth as well, creep me out a little. Good shot.

  2. Can't be a Gecko. He's not speaking in an Australian accent and trying to sell me insurance.

  3. Seems like a friendly little fellow; he'd be welcome on my screen!

  4. Definitely an anole. I love to watch them do their little "push-ups" before flaring the flap of skin under their chin.

  5. A friend in Hawaii used to send me photos of geckos all the time - lost touch with her a while ago so I miss seeing them.

  7. Hes a beauty and I would far rather have him around the house than the bugs he would eat. I used to live in the middle east and quite liked having the odd lizard around. Paul at Leeds in Yorkshire daily photography
