Despite the fact that the clouds in the background look like smoke, there was no fire on this day. The Honolulu Fire Department was doing a demonstration for some school kids - and I have to say, I never appreciated how high (and skinny!) these ladders are until I saw one up close! Stairway to heaven! The real thing! :)

Amazing photo, I wouldn't want to climb it. I appreciate all the firemen and the job that they do. Happy skywatching!
ReplyDeleteThey do such a wonderful job, one crucial necessity not to have acrophobia, that's me out!! Great shot Lisa.
ReplyDeleteA unique skywatch photo. The firemen are really true heros, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteBetter him than me - no thanks! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteMany years ago I climbed a 200 foot wooden tower, it swayed 2 feet either side at the top, now I wouldn't dare, I get vertigo these days. Great shot of a brave man.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, sooner them than me. I am full of admiration for all fireworkers, they do an amazing job.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely blog you have. This is a fine shot....to me a bit scary because of the steepness and the height...but I adore photography which stresses the linear and this one certain does that. It makes me think of my mother when she was young. She would NOT allow me on a ferris wheel because she was on one when it decided to stop running and had to be brought down one of the fire ladders like this. Can you imagine??? Love the shot. genie
